Pay Per Click advertising was started by Overture in 1998. They pioneered the idea of selling contextual based advertising like today’s Google Adwords. During that time you can easily start a PPC campaign for as low as a penny or two per click. Now, it has quickly dominated the Internet as the most popular form of advertising.

Pay Per Click or PPC for short is a method used by advertisers, webmasters, and business owners to pay for targetted traffic through search engines. Pay per click advertising on search engines allows you to choose the right keywords you would like your ad campaign appear when a search is done.
