Image Spam via PDFs?

trackerWe all know that email spamming is very common. In fact I get spam emails flooding my inbox almost all the time. I might already have a couple of spams as I write this blogpost. :)

Have heard you heard about PDF spam? Most probably not because this is just new but it is something that we should be aware of. It looks like spammers are getting smarter these days. I’m just glad there are companies like BorderWare Technologies who are trying their best to combat this type of spam and came up with an anti-spam solution. Just recently, BorderWare has announced its BorderWare Security Network (BSN), has identified a new trend in spamming in which images are embedded in PDFs. You can read more about this announcement by their Press Release. The next time you download a free ebook in PDF format make sure it’s from a good and reliable source.

  • I have been getting A LOT of pdf spam lately, and not all of it gets caught by my spam filter, although it’s been better the last few days.
