3 Easy Steps to Copyrighting for the Web

Writing for the web is a lot more different than the usual writing. This is because because you dont just writh for your readers but for the search engines as well. Copywriting doesn’t have to be an exercise in frustration, but often it is, especially for the web. Even if you’re a writer, catering to the special considerations of the web can be a trying experience. Try these three steps to make your job easier.

  1. What is the subject? Before starting to write it is very important that you know your subject well, or at least research it. If for example your main field of expertise is about banking and you are asked to write 500 words of copy on real estate, you will need to do a research. Because of the internet, this can be easy, but you have to be sure about your sources.
  2. Use simple language. If you use a lot of jargon words, people might get disinterested and will tune you out. Keep the language simple and assume you are talking to an audience unfamiliar with your work unless it is targeted solely for your profession. This involves knowing your audience.
  3. SEO writing. This is the most importan part in writing for the web. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a great way to get your copy noticed by potential customers through the search engines. SEO writing basically involves using keywords and phrases related to your topic and incorporating then in to you writing. Choose the right keywords through your customers. What do you think your customers will search and what particular keywords or phrases will they use.
