The Smart Way to Master Microsoft Office

February 28th, 2007 · No Comments

The computer has wrought many changes to the world both in the personal sphere and the business arena. The application of these changes has often been rather haphazard. Technology was moving forward at such a rapid pace that people were really having a hard time keep up with it. One of the big changes that have taken place in recent years has been a move toward formal training. The development of Certification programs in the field of Internet technology has brought some stability. Training has become the tool that moves people from helplessly trying to keep up to being on top.

This fact is true in the business place that uses Microsoft Office software. Microsoft office training disks have been available to give a basic understanding of how these systems operate, but only highly trained users can realize and tap into the amazing potential of this business management tool. If you want to fully master Microsoft Office and have your employees do so as well, advanced training is the best approach to take. Microsoft Office training is available through a worldwide network that has been set up by Microsoft. The instructors in this network have been certified by Microsoft through a program called Microsoft Certified Partners.

Podcasting 101

February 19th, 2007 · No Comments

Podcasting is the concept of distributing a media file by paid or free subscription by way of the Internet. Podcasting uses syndicated feeds and the podcast product is played on either personal computers or mobile devices. The term podcasting is a derivative of the media player iPod created and manufactured by Apple.

What makes podcasting different than various other digital audio formats is the fact that it can be automatically downloaded. To do podcasting, therefore, you’ll need software that is capable of reading feed formats such as the most common RSS (really simple syndication) or Atom.

While the ability to offer podcasting has been around for decades it some form or another, it didn’t begin to catch on as a public product until 2004. Internet marketing caused a wave of public interest in podcasting about that time and now it’s grown considerably. And just keeps on growing. Before the World Wide Web came into being in the 1982 Radio Computing Services (RCS) was the source of music and talk software for radio stations. It was in a digital format. Before the digital distribution went online, the midi format and Multicast Network distributed video and audio files. Mbone was a noted network, multicast, over the Web and used mostly by research institutes and school, although there were talk programs by audio. Around 1995 many jukeboxes and Web sites provided a selecting and sorting system for audio and music files, for announcements and for talk – all in digital format though with variations. A few online sites offer subscriptions to audio services.

Making Sense of Adsense

February 15th, 2007 · No Comments

Just what is adsense and how does it apply to me? If you are new to the internet marketing world, you must surely be wondering what everyone is talking about. Here we will attempt to give you the basic introduction to the world of ad sense.

On almost every web page that you visit you will see small ads that say in small type around them “ads by google”. This is what is known as “adsense.” These ads are placed by publishers, people like you and me with websites, as advertisements to bring people to their websites and hopefully keep them there to buy or opt-in etc. The website owner or publisher, again you or me, pay each time someone clicks on the ad and hence the name “pay-per-click” or “ppc”. You will see this name or abbreviation everywhere and you will soon wonder how it was that you did not know it! The website owner pays an amount that can vary considerably form a few cents to several dollars, depending on the popularity of the subject matter and the competition.

Windows Vista - Which Version Of Vista Best Suited For My Needs

February 10th, 2007 · No Comments

Windows Vista has been designed for the use of people ranging from the student or housewife who need an Operating system that enables them to just browse the Internet and send and receive mails to people who are in highly technical professions. There are four different versions of Windows Vista to choose from. This does bring with it as dilemma of which version one should invest in. Each of the six versions has different functionality and this raises the risk of buying the wrong version of Windows Vista. Buy too low a version and you will not have the functionality you might require a while down the line.

What happens when search engines got NO site to FOLLOW?

February 5th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I know it’s not going to happen but what happens when every website has “nofollow” tag for every external links? Will search engines index websites still?

It’s just something I have in mind to ponder upon. :)

Runescape - Life as a Trader

February 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Runescape allows you to define your own goals. You can simply want to go around killing people, in which case your needs are pretty basic - good weapons, armor and a stock of runes. You can decide to excel at a particular trade - such as fishing or crafting - and at the upper levels can make a lot of cash. Or, if you prefer you can go the route of the trader.

Trading is a little different to all the other paths to walk - because it doesn’t rely on ingame mechanics, but rather your personal abilities. When you strip away everything else - trading requires you to be able to buy low and sell high. And the way to sell high is to gather the items in bulk.

The first thing a trader needs is a little capital to invest. There are two ways to start out - feathers - which will raise your combat level a little as you slaughter all the chickens, and rune ore - which I personally recommend.

What Is VoIP?

February 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Introduction

The way we make phone calls is changing. In fact in many circumstances things have already changed. Take long distance calls for instance, many service providers are already using a technology called Voice Over IP or VOIP for short. If you have never heard of VOIP before, then the following article will change the way you think about how long distance phone calls are being made now, and about how all phone calls will be made in the future. Voice Over IP (VOIP) is a method for turning analogue audio signals into digital data that can be transferred over the internet.

You may be asking yourself how this is useful. Well think about it for a few seconds. If it is possible to turn analogue signals into digital data, then VOIP can turn a standard internet connection into a method for placing phone calls anywhere in the world virtually free, except for your internet service fee, enabling you to bypass the phone companies entirely.
