Earlier this morning I was just browsing around looking for companies that offer cheap domain registration. This is for my kuya(bro) Mike, he wanted to register a particular domain. He's planning on starting his blog site. I stumbled upon this sponsored link while searhing from yahoo that offers domains for $1.99 .I have to say it's pretty cheap but I had to make sure there were no hidden charges so I read more about this offer.
$1.99/1st yr.1 (Discount for new customers only)

- Domain name registration for 1-5 years
- The most popular domain name extensions (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us)
- 24-hour toll-free phone support

- Easy-to-use control panel with full DNS management capabilities
- Catch-all mailbox allows you to forward email sent to your domain name to a free Yahoo! Mail address (e.g. you@yahoo.com).
- Bonus starter web page you can post at your domain name as a placeholder until you are ready to build a full web site
- Ability to easily upgrade to email and hosting plans
1Offer open only to new Yahoo! Domains customers purchasing a new web domain through Yahoo! Small Business. Offer expires 3/31/2007. Discount applies only to the first year of service. Limit one offer per customer on a single account for customer's own purchase only. Offer may not be combined with other offers or discounts, transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. Well I guess this is sure as cheap as what it says. Atleast for the first year. I suggested this one to my kuya Mike and he decided to try it out.

Yahoo makes a lot of mistakes on their advertising. A lot of misleading information.
They offer 1.99 for domain for new customers, which is true. But when you sign up, and pay for it, you pay 9.95 for the domain name.
I’ve had customers pay the 1.99 they claim to give, but I’v had other customers pay the 9.95 for the domain.
I called Yahoo on behalf of the customer and they were not able to credti the amount due since the money goes to the registrar once it is registered. This is unbelievebeable!
Last year, there was no problem when they offer this discount, but this year, they messed up really bad.
Chris
